Ladies’ Opening of the green 16 April 2024

The ladies’ held their opening day on Tuesday 16 April. We had guests from the
West of Scotland Women’s’ Bowling Association, Ayrshire Women’s Bowling
Association, Howie BC, Troon BC and Wattfield BC.

The weather was dry sunny and a wee bit cold but it was good to see some blue sky
for a change. The President invited Nieve, our youngest female member to deliver
the silver jack and a couple of bowls and Nieve was presented with a card and gift
voucher as a thank you for doing this special job for the club at the start of the
season. We then went on to play 10 ends.

After play we had a superb buffet meal and enjoyed the chat and friendship shared
over a drink or two!

One member said “she had had a great day, great catering, fabulous raffle and such
a lovely supportive committee”. Thank you as it’s always good to get positive
feedback.

We raised £160.00 from the raffle so thank you to all who donated a prize and
bought tickets. We have some unclaimed raffle prizes in the committee room so
make sure you ask if you were the one of the lucky winners!

It was another successful opening day and I would like to thank all those who
helped make it such a good day, your support was much appreciated.
