Someone will be available to collect monies on Friday 27th March, 3rd, 10th and 17th April between 2 and 4 p.m.
Hope you all keep safe and well.

Christmas Party Night
In response to members requests for something to be on in the Club on a Saturday night, we are having a Christmas Party Night on Saturday 14th December. Music will be provided by Matt Bulloch and there is no charge – just come along and bring friends and family with you if you want and make a night of it!
Presentation of Prizes
The annual Presentation of Prizes took place on the 9th November, and for the first time in some years all prizewinners from the Gents, Ladies, and Seniors were invited to attend. After the formal presentations and a light supper, those present enjoyed lively music and dancing for the rest of the evening.
Thanks to all the members, friends and relatives who bought tickets for the Club’s Prize Draw. After expenses, the Club made £675 which Is a significant contribution to Club funds during the winter season.
Congratulations to Sandi Wallace who won the 1st Prize of £250; to Glen Ranson who won the £100 Travel Voucher which was 2nd Prize; and Margaret Peck who won the 3rd Prize (Afternoon Tea for Two)
A big thanks to the following companies and members who donated items for inclusion in the Draw;
Winter & Co (Club Insurers)
Ayr United FC
West Coast Foods
The Tea Pot
Andy Rankine and Jane Appleby
Ian and Hilda Smith
Thanks also to the members who attended the Prize Draw Night itself, and to Matt Bulloch for providing music and entertainment which ensured a good night was had by those present.
Sunday Afternoon Cabarets
The first of the winter seasons afternoon cabarets got off to a great start with the return of Dave Cairns to the Club. A great afternoon was enjoyed by all who attended, and we look forward eagerly to the next cabaret on the 24th November, which will feature “Legends”
Check out video here.
The Race Night saw a smaller than usual turnout, but finding a winner for many of those attending remained elusive! Nevertheless good fun was had by all.
As we head towards the month of November which promises to be a busy one for the Club. The following gives some further information about the various events which are planned –
Race Night – 2nd November
Always a popular event and an important one for raising funds for the club. There is still time to buy individual horses or indeed the whole race to guarantee yourself a bottle! Tickets are £1 at the door so if you find yourself free next Saturday night come along and hopefully beat the bookies!
Presentation of Prizes – 9th November
As agreed at the last AGM this year we are holding a Joint Prize Giving, in line with what takes place at most clubs. We look forward to our prize winners being present, but even if you were not successful in any of the competitions come along anyway and enjoy a light supper and the musical entertainment which will follow the prize giving itself. Please add your name to the list in the Clubhouse.
Prize Draw Evening – 16th November
Any members who have still to return their tickets/money are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. We are also still looking for prizes over and above those listed on the ticket, so if you know anyone who might wish to donate a prize, or if you wish to do so yourself, please let Ian Smith know. The draw itself will be followed by music from Matt Bulloch so come along and you never know yours might be the ticket which wins £250 cash!
Sunday Afternoon Cabaret – 24th November
The next Sunday afternoon cabaret features “Legends” and tickets are available from the Bar as usual.
St Andrews Night – 30th November
To complete a busy month we are holding a St Andrew Night, which will feature Scottish music from Matt Bulloch and a light supper. This night was suggested as an alternative to the Burns Supper, but with no speeches or formality, and is open to all members. A touch of tartan in terms of dress is optional!
We look forward to seeing you at some if not all of the events, and remember that all our events are open to friends and relatives to come along as well.
Gents Closing Day
Gents Closing Day took place on Saturday 14th September, and an enjoyable day was had by all though the numbers attending were disappointing. President Ian Smith thanked members for their support during the playing season, and stressed the need for this support to continue during the winter with involvement in the Winter Entertainment Programme.
Sunday Night League Cabaret
Around 70 members and guests attended the Sunday Night League Cabaret and after an excellent meal were soundly entertained by Robbie Carron, who soon had everyone up dancing the night away! The Runners Up this year were Margaret and Jim Rodger. The winners were Margaret and Archie Patrick.
This year the Club is organising a Prize Draw, with a first prize of £250. The draw itself will take place on Saturday 16th November in the Club at 8.00pm. Prize Draw tickets are in the process of being circulated to members, and it is hoped as many as possible will support this venture, which is for club funds. All donations of prizes would be welcomed.
The first Quiz/Bingo Night of the winter season takes place on Saturday 12th October at 8.00pm in the Club. It is a light hearted fun quiz so why not come along and give it a try – you might enjoy it!
Sadly we come to the end of our playing season for this year. A big well done to all our winners, too many to mention here but see you all at presentation night where the silverware comes out. To our runners up well next year is a target!! We enjoyed an afternoon of bowls, good company and game won by Sandra, Pam, Alma, and Margo. We all enjoyed lovely meal, saw lots clean plates, always a good sign. The raffle, always a popular event raised £93. So well done all lucky winners and thank you to you all for donating prizes. We look forward to 2020 season.
