In line with the gradual relaxation of COVID restrictions, the Club’s main green will open for informal play from Monday 26 April subject to confirmation of the Scottish Parliament’s proposed roadmap on the preceding Tuesday. This will be subject to a maximum of 15 bowlers playing singles or pairs with advance booking being required through Ian Ferguson, our new COVID Officer, social distancing and similar sanitisation of mats and jacks as in 2020. A one-off entry to the clubhouse will be allowed to remove any personal equipment but members are not permitted to return this to lockers until regulations have been relaxed further. At this stage, no formal Opening Day can take place and the Annual General Meeting remains postponed until social distancing rules have been sufficiently eased. The Honorary Secretary will contact all members to appraise them of the Committee’s plans for subscriptions but, although arrangements have been put in place for payment in person at the clubhouse on the afternoons of 16th, 23rd & 26th April, online banking transactions are preferable. Updates on future developments will be posted on this website, prestwick.bowls-club.co.uk.
The Committee fully appreciate the continuing support from members during lockdown and will be continuing to do all they can to provide as full a service as possible as further easing of restrictions permits. Volunteers are sought from experienced members for the post of Green Baillie, possibly on a shared basis.
