Tuesday 23rd April was Ladies Opening Day. Ladies President Janette Kelly advises that a good day was had by all who attended, they enjoyed a lovely meal, and there were very positive comments on the running of the green so early in the season. Thanks to all who helped to make it a successful and enjoyable day.
Welcome Wappenschaw
The Welcome Wappenschaw took place on Wednesday 1st May, with 30 members taking part. After the game they enjoyed an excellent buffet prepared by Ladies President Janette Kelly and her team, consisting of Anne Irving, Marion Thomson and Jean Neil. Thanks to them and we look forward to a similar turnout on a Wednesday for the weeks to come.
Opening Day
Prestwick Bowling Club’s 140th season got off to a great start with Gents Opening Day on the 20th April. Members and Guests enjoyed great weather and good company on and off the green, with the Presidents teams victorious over those of the Vice Presidents. After the game all present enjoyed an excellent meal prepared by a number of our Lady members. (See the Gallery for pictures of the Opening Day including the throwing of the jack and the first bowl by Hilda Smith, wife of President Ian Smith)
Change to Dress Code for 2019.
It was agreed at the A.G.M. that bowlers could wear shorts on the green as long as they were tailored.
Bowlers can also play in T Shirts for bounce games only.
