Prestwick J Coutts Mixed Triples 2024 – Format & Rules

1. There will be 4 sections, each with 4 teams.
2. Each team will play 3 games of 6 ends. Burnt ends will count.
3. Only skips should visit the head. This is permitted after they have played their 2nd bowl and at no other time.
4. Scorecards should be handed in after each game. Please ensure that the score on the card is correct, before handing back to the organisers for checking.
5. Where a measure is required, teams are requested to do this themselves. In the case of any dispute or disagreement, one of the match secretaries/organisers will measure or make a final decision on the situation
6. Qualification will be on a round robin basis. Two points will be awarded for a win and one for a draw.
7. Section winners will be determined as follows:
• The team with the most points
• In the event of two or more teams having equal points, the team with the best shot difference will qualify
• If two teams are tied on points and on shot difference, the winner will be determined by the direct result between these two teams
• If more than two teams have the same number of points and are also tied on shot difference, then the team who won the highest number of ends will be the winner
The winners of each section will qualify for the semifinals. A draw will take place to determine the semi-final games, which will be played over 6 ends.
The final will also be played over 6 ends.

Scotland Team.

Rebecca Houston was at the English National Bowls Centre in Leamington Spa at the weekend playing in the British Bowls Competition. Rebecca was Scotland Team Captain and they finished 2nd in the series, just missing out on 1st place to England. Well done Rebecca and the Scotland Team.
