Summer Fayre

Well, the weather gods must have been PBC members this year, because after a week of cold, wet misery, they delivered sunshine right on cue for our annual Summer Fayre!
And what a day it was! Whether you fancied a cuppa in the tearoom, a flutter on the tombola, a bargain plant for the garden, or the chance to become a human fruit machine (where else would you get that opportunity?! ), there was something for everyone.
The club was buzzing all day, and it was brilliant to see so many smiling faces enjoying the atmosphere, catching up with friends, and supporting PBC.
Of course, events like this don’t just magically happen (despite what some people think!). Behind every raffle ticket, slice of cake, and pint poured is a small army of volunteers working away in the background.
So, a huge thank you to our fantastic Social Team – you absolutely smashed it!
A big shout-out too to our bar team, who barely stopped for breath all day, and to all our wonderful bakers and generous donors. (A full list of supporting businesses will follow soon.)
Most importantly, thank you to all our members, friends, families, and visitors who came along. Without you, we’d just have been a group of volunteers standing around with a lot of cake and nowhere to put it!
We’re delighted to say that the combined fayre and bar takings exceeded all expectations, making all the hard work, planning, carrying, lifting, baking, serving, and tidying up completely worthwhile.
Thank you for making the 2026 PBC Summer Fayre such a fantastic success. Same time next year… if the weather gods are feeling generous again!
Photos will be on the Gallery page of the website.

Charles Smith

Congratulations to Team Prestwick who lifted the Charles Smith Trophy tonight after 2 excellent wins against Seafield and Northfield
Our fours team of Paul, Craig, Alan & Davie got of to a flyer and never looked back, winning comfortably against Seafield. Our triples team of Stuart, Colin & Jamie’s game was a much tighter affair against Northfield, with the scores tied 11-11 playing the last end. Jamie Noon, facing game down with his last bowl, played a fantastic shot to move the jack and score 2 for Prestwick, to see us win 13-11 and lift the trophy
Congratulations to everyone who has played over the last 4 weeks to help Team Prestwick to victory and thank you to all the supporters who came tonight to cheer the teams on.

Paul Love Open Triples

Paul Love Open Triples Competition – A Fantastic Day of Bowls!
What a fabulous day we had at the Paul Love Open Triples Competition, with 24 teams enjoying a highly competitive round-robin format before progressing to the knockout stages.
In the semi-finals:
Graham McKinlay, Alan Law and Ian Devlin defeated Junior Cole, Chris Duffy and Brian Fulton.
Campbell Ingram, Craig McInally and Derek McInally overcame Andy Barlow, Jim Howell and Hugh Goldie.
The final was an exciting and closely contested affair, with Campbell Ingram, Craig McInally and Derek McInally emerging victorious to lift the trophy.
Congratulations to our worthy champions
A huge thank you to our fantastic bar team and TJ’s Catering for keeping everyone fed and refreshed throughout the day.
Special thanks also go to our outstanding Match Secretaries, Stuart and Rebecca, along with their team, whose hard work and organisation ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Paul Love Joiners & Building Services for their generous sponsorship of the competition. Your support is greatly appreciated and helps make events like this possible.
Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to another successful and enjoyable day of bowls. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
